The seats in the new ID.7 Tourer are not only comfortable, they are also flexible. The split-folding rear bench seat lets you extend the luggage compartment as you need. Depending on the equipment line, the seats are covered as standard with fabric and ArtVelours microfleece.

The leather seats come with active air conditioning as an option, which provide cooling in summer and warmth in winter. The optional massage function on the drive side raises the comfort level another notch: Spoil yourself a little on the road too and ease the tension of everyday life. 

The new ID.7 Tourer provides plenty of space for up to five passengers and thanks to premium materials and features such as background lighting or the optional electric dimmable “Smart Glass” panoramic sunroof exudes the lounge character of a luxury estate with especially generous spaciousness. The standard interior of the new ID.7 Tourer has a high proportion of special materials and is also full of recycled materials.

The optional ergoActive premium seats offer automatic climate control. Here, the seat cushion and the backrest can be heated or ventilated independently of each other. Through the interaction of these functions, the seat can independently set your own personal feel-good seat climate in automatic mode. How this is possible? Temperature and humidity are measured in the contact zone between the seat and the person, checked against other climate-relevant factors and favoured settings such as “warm back” and then used to calculate your individual feel-good climate. You will never be sweaty when getting out of your car again. In addition to automatic mode, you can choose between three Smart Climates: from hot to dry to cool. Experience total comfort to leave you feeling fit and fresh even on long journeys.

The passengers in the back also enjoy the comfort of being able to heat the seat cushions in three stages.

Depending on the battery capacity, the new ID.7 offers an all-electric range of up to 685 km* and is thus equipped for practically any non-stop journey. The battery can be recharged from 10 to 80 percent in about 26 minutes at DC fast charging stations (direct current) when the outside temperature is moderate and with a charging capacity of up to 200 kW. You pick up speed again quickly and the sophisticated battery management and Aerodynamic design can help minimize fuel consumption.

High-tech converges with reality in your ID.7 (Tourer) and allows you to keep an eye on what’s important: the standard augmented reality head-up display projects important digital information directly onto the windscreen and into your field of vision; for example, you can opt to view information about lane changes or the arrow signals for navigation. You can see the navigation on the lane exactly where you are driving along or turning off – without taking your eyes off the road. So you reach your destination feeling more relaxed.

A completely new type of user experience awaits you in the Digital Cockpit of your ID.7 (Tourer). Thanks to the latest operating concept, your ID.7 is transformed into a genuine smart device. The standard 15 inch screen display provides convenient access to the most important functions. Individually configurable favourites and even more applications on the homescreen guarantee short operating paths and improve the user experience.

The main functions of the air conditioning are directly accessible via the infotainment system. The different functions of the new air conditioning concept are visible at all times on the large new display and can be operated and configured individually for each user. The intelligent air vents control the air flow and special requests can be activated using voice commands. For instance, the ID.7 (Tourer) responds to “Hello IDA, my hands are cold!” by activating the steering wheel heating and directing warm air flow to the hands.

The new online IDA voice assistant allows you to conveniently operate the radio, telephone, your music, the optional three-zone air conditioning system and optional navigation unit with your voice. For example, you can select the radio station or choose the address book entry or telephone number you’re looking for with your voice.

The voice assistant can be started with “Hello IDA”. It also understands free formulations from everyday life such as “I’m cold.” or “Where are there Japanese restaurants in Berlin?”. In addition, thanks to digital microphones, it now also recognises whether the driver or the passenger is speaking, in order, for example, to provide the air conditioning in the vehicle specifically to the person making the request.

The new IDA voice assistant will also appear visually to you in the future on the centre display, with interactions enabled via graphics. The optimised system also asks questions or lets itself be interrupted.

IDA likewise allows you to access world knowledge made available via Internet partners (e.g. Wikipedia).*

You don’t want to do without anything on the road? The optional folding towing bracket with electirc realease creates more space for the things that help you get through the day. Designed for loads up to 1,200 kg* (braked), you can transport a lot with your ID.7 Tourer. In addition, the vehicle has a roof load of up to 75 kg, which offers you further options for stowing your equipment or luggage.

Even at first glance, the new ID.7 shines with a genuine highlight: the innovative IQ.LIGHT. The matrix technology enables you to permanently drive with main beam without dazzling other road users. An elegant light strip extends between the attractively shaped LED matrix headlights and the Volkswagen logo. When you approach your vehicle, the headlights light up briefly as if winking at you, making the ID.7 appear almost human.

What creates an impression at the front should naturally also be present at the rear: The package includes the optional 3D LED tail light clusters with animated brake light and integrated dynamic turn signal, which indicates the intended direction with a dynamic flowing light movement. 

It sounds unique and it is too: ID. Sound, the sound of the ID.7 models from Volkswagen when driving at a slow speed. To make road traffic safer, your ID.7 is quieter on the inside up to a speed of 30 km/h and can be heard a little more clearly outside. The artificially generated vehicle noise makes the almost noiseless electric drives audible for pedestrians and cyclists. It sounds when the vehicle is moving off, when reversing and at speeds of up to 30 km/h. At higher speeds, the rolling noise of the tyres is sufficiently loud that an additional acoustic signal is no longer necessary.

Charging your Volkswagen ID. model is now even more convenient: with Plug & Charge, the new standard for convenient charging. All you need is the ID. Software 3.1 or higher, the Volkswagen App and a Plug & Charge compatible We Charge tariff. Simply pull up to the Plug & Charge charging station*, activate Plug & Charge in the Volkswagen app and in the vehicle and plug in the charging cable. Log in, charge, pay – it all takes place automatically. You can continue your journey free of stress.

The optional Connected Travel Assist function provides you with an extremely useful driving assistant on board. It can maintain the distance to the vehicle in front and the maximum speed you have set for you. The adaptive lane guidance also actively keeps the vehicle in the middle of the lane.

If your Volkswagen is equipped with Park Assist Plus and Side Assist, Connected Travel Assist can also actively support you when changing lanes on the highway.

With Predictive Cruise Control and Curve Assist, Connected Travel Assist can adapt the vehicle speed to applicable speed limits and road layouts (bends, traffic circles, etc.).*

Thanks to the experience of hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen drivers, Connected Travel Assist can stay in lane and adapt the vehicle speed even better to the course of the road, even if no lane restrictions are detected.* This makes assisted driving feel even more human.

To use the Connected Travel Assist online data, a separate contract must be concluded, a Volkswagen ID user account must be created and the WeConnect / VW Connect contract must be concluded. The use of the online data must then be activated in the Infotainment system store.

Your Volkswagen with optional Park Assist Plus can not only tell you whether a parking space is big enough as you drive by – it also parks for you.

Up to a speed of 40 km/h, Park Assist Plus permanently searches for suitable parallel parking spaces. Up to a speed of 20 km/h it also searches for parking bays. Once you have decided on one of the parking spaces found, you start the parking process, with Park Assist Plus carrying out the parking manoeuvre for you. You only have to monitor the parking process and intervene if necessary.

But Park Assist Plus can do even more. It can also drive out of a parallel parking space again and can help you with a failed parking manoeuvre by completing the process for you.*

The parking assistant can optionally be expanded with the memory function. This means you can now teach your Volkswagen very individual parking maneuvers. For example, to park in a carport or garage. You only have to park your Volkswagen once and save the parking process. Your Volkswagen can then independently repeat the parking maneuver it has learned. All you have to do is monitor the process.*

If you are no longer driving as a result of a medical emergency, the "Emergency Assist" can register this and try to reactivate you.* If this is unsuccessful, it can bring the vehicle to a controlled standstill within the system limits and can to prevent an accident if necessary.

Manoeuvring in the bustling city centre, in the car park or on rough terrain: there are many situations in which you could use a few extra eyes as a driver. With the optional Area View you get them in the form of four cameras that capture the area around the vehicle and transfer helpful information to the screen of the infotainment system. For example, you can see kerbs or parking markings better and even look around the corner.*

The standard hazard warning  function supports the driver with useful information, including warnings about construction work or rescue vehicles. Car2X technology uses WiFi to communicate (pWLAN). 

The optional Adaptive Cruise Control ACC helps you to maintain a previously set speed and preset minimum distance to the vehicle in front. It also has predictive cruise control and cornering assistance. This means that ACC can adapt the vehicle’s speed to the relevant speed limits and the road layout (bends roundabouts etc.).*

The standard Front Assist emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of critical situations involving pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles. It will even brake automatically in emergency situations.*

The optional "Side Assist" lane change assistant can warn you of dangerous lane changes. An LED display in the exterior mirror shows you when a vehicle is in your blind spot or approaching quickly from behind.

If you turn to change lanes, Side Assist calculates whether one of them could be dangerous due to its position or speed - and draws your attention to this by flashing conspicuously.

In conjunction with Lane Assist, it can also support you with a corrective steering intervention.

The Rear Traffic Alert warns you if another vehicle crosses your line of travel when reversing out of a parking space. If you do not react, the system can mitigate or, if necessary, prevent a collision by applying the brakes.*

The exit warning helps you to avoid dangerous situations when exiting your vehicle. It can detect when another vehicle is approaching from behind and warn you acoustically and visually before you get out.*

Risky situations can sometimes arise on monotonous journeys. This is where Lane Assist comes into play: from a speed of 60 km/h, it can detect whether the vehicle is unintentionally leaving its own lane. With corrective steering assistance, it can direct the driver's attention back to the road ahead.*

The optional proactive occupant protection system can detect precarious situations with the potential to cause an accident and automatically take precautions depending on the situation.*

• Windows and sliding sunroof are closed to a crack to optimise the effect of the airbags.
• The front seat belts are tightened in an instant to secure the driver and front passenger in their seats.
• The hazard warning lights are activated

The  VW Connect digital services turn your ID.7 Tourer into a connected car, since it is online on demand via the permanently installed SIM card. VW Connect Plus provides near real-time information about traffic conditions and charging stations with availability status and opening hours. You can download, install and update additional digital products for your ID.7 Tourer via the In-Car Shop.

In addition, the app for your smartphone provides you with important information about your ID.7 Tourer at a glance even when out and about: for example, you can check the remaining range and whether all doors and windows are closed. You can conveniently start and stop charging processes remotely and adjust the air conditioning to your individual preferences.

Software updates are already familiar from the computer or smartphone. Now with over-the-air updates, your ID.7 Tourer can remain up to date too. New software versions can be downloaded simply via a mobile data connection as soon as you confirm the update on the infotainment system. This continuously improves operation, performance and comfort and new functions can be added.

Would you like to be able to use your smartphone apps conveniently in the car? App‑Connect makes this really easy to do. It enables you to use selected apps and content in your Volkswagen. They are transferred wirelessly to the infotainment system display with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto from Google and can be operated easily and clearly within your field of vision. This makes it incredibly easy to access music, news, maps or audio books, for example.

For convenient use of apps and content, App-Connect is ideal. Music, news, maps or audio books are transmitted to the display of the infotainment system and can therefore be used within your field of vision. Two interfaces are possible for connecting smartphones: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto from Google. Wireless connection for the optional Discover navigation system and the Ready 2 Discover radio makes usage particularly convenient.
